Babylon, the latest production by Neville Tranter, is at once humorous, witty and frightening. A modern Bible story about humans and their destiny. A nervous captain waits impatiently for his last passengers, all refugees. They attempt at all costs to get on board this last boat to Babylon, the promised land.
Some make it. Others are left behind.
The boat sinks. Who will survive and who will not?
Neville Tranter is revered as one of the great legends in puppetry, and he has become an important part of all of the major international puppetry festivals. His performances are known for absurd scenes and dark humor. In the center of all his performances is the question of human nature in all its brutality and fragility.
Babylon is a timely show in present history.
