The Journey

He can’t stay any longer. He runs around, sword in hand, shouting for the thieves to come out of hiding. Then he decides to leave and others from the village do the same. They leave the place they call home, heading South, where they have heard of warmth and food. They walk and walk. We follow the boy Birk, who has lost everything but tries to find himself again. In his search he meets the warrior, learns to fight and is taken as a slave. He meets a girl and music, and discovers that there is more to life than mere survival. This is a tale of how the ancient Danish Cimbri people migrated down through Europe in 117 BC, and of their meetings with people of other cultures.
