Puppet and set designs from the performances of Teatret Svanen

Teatret Svanen is a Danish-Czech puppet theatre, based in Odense. The theatre is led by Kim Westi.
With roots in the Czech puppetry tradition Czech born Patricie Homolova has created puppets to many of the theatre’s performances through the years, sometimes in cooperation with other Czech artists.During the festival the exhibit will include the wonderfully carved wooden puppets from the production ‘The Marionette Man’ and puppets and set design from ‘The Devil’s Three Gold Hairs’, for which puppets and sets were created by Czech artist Marek Zakostelicky.
There will also be a series of tableaus from Teatret Svanen’s other performances. Patricie Homolova studied at the famous Drak Theatre in Czech Republic, where Marek Zakostelicky also worked for some years. The theatre will be performing ‘The Emperor’s New clothes’ at this year’s Festival of Wonder.
